Stacey Dooley wowed judges with her Quickstep to Kylie Minogue’s Dancing.

The documentary maker and her professional Strictly Come Dancing parter, Kevin Clifton, bagged an impressive 24 for their efforts.

And after that, Stacey became the favourite with bookmakers who have tipped her to lift the Glitterball trophy at the end of the competition.

The pair were given plenty of strong feedback from the judges, who could see real potential in her.

Bruno Tonioli commented: “You have to be careful bevies all that enthusiasm can translate into jelly arms and you don’t finish your arms.”

Head judge Shirley Ballas agreed, sharing: “Beautiful light footwork, I was really impressed, very clean lines.

“But towards there end, your arms began to drop, but that’s to do with your core, but well done.”

Last night on Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two, former professional, Erin Boag shared some extra advice to Stacey on how to improve her technique.

The 43-year-old said: “Well it was all go.

“They do the section here, it’s what we call a ‘kick and rush’ where you both face the same direction and you run and you keep going.

“There was a lot of that. It was light, it was bright, her feet were in front of her and it was wonderful.

“I’m just wondering if you did spin turns, progressive chasses, lock-steps and a bit of the swing steps, you would have calmed it all down and reigned it all in.

Erin did conclude Stacey and Kevin did a “fabulous job” to host Zoe Ball.

“They’re a great couple together,” the former Strictly Come Dancing professional admitted.

Elsewhere on It Takes Two, Danny John-Jules admitted he almost pulled out of the live sho

The former Red Dwarf actor admitted he was so “nervous” before Saturday’s Strictly launch he didn’t know if he could do it.

He told Zoe: “I couldn’t wait until it was over actually but when it was, I couldn’t believe that I’d actually got through it as well as I did.”

His partner, Amy Dowden, was quick to praise Danny for his efforts, adding: “It was the best he’d ever got through it, honestly.

“And in the dress run, something was going wrong every time. Honestly on the night, it was the best that Danny ever, ever danced the Foxtrot.”

Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two airs tonight on BBC Two at 6.30pm.
