Game of Thrones season 8 spoilers: Jon Snow to lose Iron Throne to Allana Tyrell? | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

Category: Entertainment,Gossip

A lot of importance is placed upon who occupies the Iron Throne in Game of Thrones. It’s the McGuffin that the whole series is based around.

However, despite there being so many people vying for the throne, it’s brought nothing but misery and death for whoever sat upon the seat of swords.

Aegon the Conqueror, Robert Baratheon, Joffrey Baratheon, Tommen Baratheon, Tywin Lannister have all sat on the throne and have all since died.

Cersei (played by Lena Heady) currently sits on the throne, yet she’ll be facing stiff opposition from Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) and Jon Snow (Kit Harrington).

That said, they aren’t the only possibilities. Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) has a claim upon the throne, Beric Dondarrion (Richard Dormer) could have a chance, as could Gendry (Joe Dempsie) since he’s the sole living her to the last "rightful" king.

And then there’s the Night King, who could come and upset everything by killing everyone with his Army of the Dead and end up sitting on the Iron Throne.

That said, his motives aren’t exactly clear, and he may not be interested in the throne whatsoever.

Yet, there’s one name missing from that list; there’s one person that people have forgotten about who has a legal right to the throne.

Viewers were led to believe that all the Tyrell’s had been killed after Cersei blew up the Great Sept of Baelor.

Yet, there is one last Tyrell still alive out there, Allana Tyrell, and she might be set for an unexpected return.

Allana could make a comeback in season eight in a shocking twist that might see her snatch the Iron Throne from Daenerys and Jon Snow.

She’s the cousin of Margaery (Natalie Dormer) and Loras Tyrell (Finn Jones) and was last seen in season three.

She was mentioned by Margaery in a chat with Sansa who told the Stark daughter: “When I was 12, I was all elbows and knees, and Allana looked like a goddess sent to torture me.”

Margaery also went on to reveal that Allana used to call her “pig-face” and she’d oink at her.

She doesn’t sound like the most pleasant person in the world, which could serve her well in a battle for the throne.

She also wasn’t present when Cersei got up to her explosive antics, and there’s certainly room for her to come back and shake things up a bit.

However, there’s still the possibility that nobody ends up on the throne.

There is a rumour which was actually started by former Game of Thrones actor, Finn Jones, that the throne will be abolished and a more democratic rule would be implemented.

That said, this does sound a bit too sensible for Game of Thrones, and the most likely outcome is that everyone will die.

Game of Thrones season 8 will return to HBO and Sky Atlantic in 2019. Seasons 1-7 are currently streaming on NOW TV.
