viewers recently saw rapist Josh (played by Ryan Clayton) beaten up after vicar Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) warned his date that he had sexually assaulted David (Jack P Shepherd).

Billy was left feeling guilty when he visited Josh in the hospital and learned that he is now unable to see.

Fans were overjoyed with the turn of events, believing he had finally faced his comeuppance.

However, actor Ryan has teased there is much more to come as Josh’s story is not yet over.

The actor hinted that his time left on the show is limited, however, life won’t be easy.

He explained: “When you’re a villain, the clock is always ticking.

“Josh will always consider himself the victim and protest his innocence - he won’t accept that he actually did what he did to David.”

Ryan went on to tell Inside Soap: “He definitely deserves justice and I know that viewers are interested to know how this will happen.

“Perhaps his punishment has already begun, with the blindness he has suffered after being attacked - but there’s still a long way to go.”

The soap star went on to note that he has “loved” working on the long-running  series.

“When you have lovely conversations with fans and realise how much they appreciate what you do, that’s always nice,” he continued.

“And everyone at Corrie has been an absolute pleasure to work with - I’ve made some great friends.”

It comes as soap after Kym Marsh was spotted filming funeral scenes as Michelle Connor.

Kym could be seen dressed in black and talking to a mysterious man on set as she filmed the heartbreaking scenes.

While it is unknown whose funeral she is attending, the latest developments with Johnny Connor (Richard Hawley) suggest the new Rovers Return landlord could be killed off.

He had a recent health scare when he kidnapped his granddaughter Susie following a tense custody battle with Eva Price (Catherine Tyldesley).

After he handed Susie back over to her mother, he collapsed and was rushed to hospital.

While it seems that he back on his feet, could the pressures of being the landlord of the pub get to Johnny and lead to his untimely death.

Fans of the long running soap will just have to wait and see what the future holds for both Josh and Johnny.

Coronation Street continues Monday on ITV at 7.30pm and 8.30pm.
