Chuckle Brothers star Barry Chuckle died last weekend at the age of 73, leaving his 70-year-old sibling “devastated”.

Paul stepped out for the first time since the heartbreaking news to attend Rotherham United’s game against Ipswich Town yesterday and was pictured looking touched by the New York Stadium crowd’s tear-jerking celebration of his brother’s life.

He and Barry were honorary life presidents of Rotherham United, and fans inside the venue held a minute’s applause in memory of the late ChuckleVision star before kick-off.

In the 73rd minute of the game, to mark Barry's age at the time he died, rounds of the duo’s famous catchphrase, “To me, to you,” rang out around the stadium.

When Michael Smith scored the only goal of the game in the 90th minute, giving Rotherham the win, Paul was pictured blowing a kiss to the heavens.

Later in the afternoon, Paul took to Twitter to thank fans for their show of support, telling his 138,000 followers: “A big kiss to all the Tractor boys for this afternoon’s tribute to my beautiful brother Barry #ipswichtown #applause #heartbreak.”

He also revealed a sad update when a fan tweeted to ask about Barry’s Twitter account.

“Does anyone know if the BazElliot Twitter account was his real one as it claimed?” a fan wrote. “I had a few lovely tweets from him and was gutted I couldn’t revisit them as the account was deactivated completely.”

“Yes it was Barry,” Paul replied, adding a broken heart emoji.

How did Chuckle Brothers star Barry Chuckle die?

“Barry’s account has been deactivated,” he said.

Earlier this week, Barry’s family announced funeral plans for the comedian, to be held at the Rotherham’s New York Stadium.

“As a family we would welcome fans to celebrate his life and pay their respects with us, outside of the New York Stadium,” a statement said.

“There is an event for invited family and close friends which respectfully is private and by invite only.

“We are overwhelmed with the love and support we have received over the last few days, and thank everyone concerned,” they said.

After Barry’s death, Paul’s other half tweeted from his account: “Paul has asked me to send a message to thank EVERYONE for your lovely messages this morning, he is absolutely devastated so unable to respond himself but your messages really do help and he knows Barry would happy to know how much he was loved, Sue X.”(sic)

The Chuckle Brothers star later broke his Twitter silence, posting for the first time since Barry died.

“I’d like to say a big thank you to everyone for all your messages they’ve been agreed to read but I read every one,” he said.

“It’s the worst feeling ever but I have to carry on as I know Barry would want me to having always been so supportive of each other both in work and our personal lives.”

Their older brother Jimmy previously said Barry had died after a private battle with bone cancer.
