Nancy Sinatra dead: Frank Sinatra's first wife dies aged 101 as daughter pays tribute | Celebrity News | Showbiz & TV

Bang Bang singer Nancy Sinatra Jr. shared the sad news on Twitter in the early hours of this morning, telling her 186,000 followers: “My mother passed away peacefully tonight at the age of 101.

“She was a blessing and the light of my life.

“Godspeed, Momma,” she wrote. “Thank you for everything.”

Nancy Snr. was the first wife of swing music legend and actor Frank and mother to his three children.

The cause of death has not yet been reported.

In 1934, Nancy Barbato met a young Frank when he was a relatively unknown jazz singer in Long Branch, New Jersey.

They married in 1939 and welcomed their two eldest children, Nancy Jr and Frank Jr, while living in Jersey City in the early 1940s.

When his fame began to grow, the couple moved to Los Angeles where he became known as one of Hollywood’s biggest stars.

The pair’s youngest daughter Tina was born in California in 1948.

Nancy later left her husband after his affair with Ava Gardner emerged.

They were divorced in 1951, just weeks before he married Ava.

Nancy raised their three children, Nancy, Frank and Tina.

Frank went on to marry actress Mia Farrow and former showgirl Barbara Marx.

Nancy never remarried.

Superstar and Hollywood icon Frank passed away in 1998, and the couple’s son Frank Jr. died in 2016.
