Professor Green, whose real name is Stephen Manderson, has had to postpone his UK tour following an injury to his neck and multiple seizures. The 35-year-old rapper was due to kick of the series of gigs tonight at The Globe in Cardiff, but suffered three seizures hours before the show. He fractured the vertebrae in his neck after falling as a result of the seizures and was rushed to hospital. Sharing a picture of himself on a stretcher with a neck brace after the fall on Instagram, Green said he fell while getting ready for the tour.

“I had a seizure this morning which resulted in a fall while I was packing for tour 1/3,” he captioned the image.

“Depending on how you look at this fall I was extremely lucky. I fractured vertebrae in my neck and subsequently had to cancel my tour that was due to start today.”

The hitmaker promised to return in the winter with a “bigger tour,” telling his 834,000 followers: “I’ll be back in the winter with a bigger tour.

“I’ve had two further seizures and am lucky I didn't break my neck. Really f***ing lucky. Thanks for baring with me.”

Praising the NHS workers who came to his aid following the fall, he added: “Most importantly thank you to our NHS, heroes amongst men (and women).”

On his second Instagram page, where he uploads personal images, he shared a photo of the bag he had packed for the show.

The snap was accompanied by a lengthy message, which read: “Just after I sent this pic I sent to someone to say how ready for tour I was, I had the first seizure I've ever had which led to me falling without hands to soften the fall and fractured my neck in doing so.

“After I got to the hospital I had a second seizure with again no obvious cause.

"There's one theory - I've run myself into the ground doing way too much, over stretching myself as per usual and it's finally caught up on me. Seems quite likely.”

He continued: ”I’m gonna use this time to implement all the self care I encourage others to put into practice - and it's going to stay in practice as there's nothing like nearly breaking your neck to put things into perspective.

"Rest, studio, books, and efforts into building what might even be a relationship... A healthy one. Not one based on toxicity. Crazy, I know.”

The London-based artist went on to thank his friends who rushed to his aid when they found him on the floor after he fell over.

Green, who was married to former Made In Chelsea star Millie Mackintosh for three years, also encouraged his followers to tell their love ones how much they value them.

“Don't forget to tell the people you love how important and special they are, as we saw today from my close call.

“You never know whats round the corner. The world won't suffer from a bit more love being shown.”
