Sarah Sudden (played by Katie Hill) is still waiting for a lifesaving transplant operation on , after being diagnosed with heart failure easier this year.

With Debbie Dingle (Charley Webb) anxiously waiting for her daughter to be offered a life-line, her father Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) could make matters worse.

The father and daughter have a history of lying and deceit, so could he jeopardise Sarah’s health in a shock turn of events?

The sequence of events could lead Debbie to distance herself from her father as new Emmerdale showrunner, Jane Hudson has teased something dramatic will tear two much-loved characters apart on the soap.

With plans for the Christmas episodes seeming to picture a peaceful village for the festive period, Jane has revealed the Dingle family will bring the drama back to the fold.

Teasing what’s to come, Jane told What’s On TV: “We have got huge rifts coming up in the Dingle clan that will blow apart two of our most loved characters.”

Although the circumstances around the explosive separation remain a tightly-guarded secret, the show runner has hinted major repercussions for the mystery pair.

“Who knows if they will ever get back to where they used to be?.” Joe teased.

Cain’s history of dodgy dealings with Debbie could resurface over the coming months, as the two previously lied to Ross Barton (Michael Parr) about who organised the acid attack which left him scarred.

As Debbie continues to wait by Sarah’s bedside, Cain could pull the mother away to help him with another disastrous plan.

With Debbie heavily involved in the plan, Sarah’s opportunity of a heart transplant could arise but with no one being able to get hold of Debbie, Sarah loses her fight.

Learning the heart-breaking truth about her daughter’s death, Debbie could draw the line with her father for the final time, blaming him for her not being there to give the go ahead for Sarah’s operation.

Emmerdale viewers will have to keep their eyes peeled to see what blows the family apart towards the end of the year, with 2018 bowing out in true explosive soap style.

Not only will there be a rift with the Dingle’s but another wedding is planned to air amongst the festivities.

In the coming weeks, Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) will wed his partner Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) in a hugely anticipated ceremony for soap fans.

After the recent tragedy his mother Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) has suffered after the heartbreaking loss of baby grace, the mother urges Aaron to go through with the happy occasion.

Wedding bells will be ringing out once more before the year is out, with show runner Jane teasing the Christmas nuptials.

Jane said: “We have got a wedding at Christmas. I’m not going to tell you who, but let’s just say it will bring a different flavour to the village than you’ve had before.”

With Charity Dingle (Emma Atkinson) confessing her love to Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick), the pair could make things official by the end of the year.

Emmerdale continues tomorrow night at 7pm on ITV.
