Emily Ratajkowsk was one of hundreds of protesters who were apprehended by police during the march in Washington, USA.

The 27-year-old was rallying at Capitol Hill, Washington against President Donald Trump’s Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

Judge Kavanaugh was accused of sexually assaulting an intoxicated Christine Blasey Ford during a high school party decades ago.

The father-of-two has denied all claims and publicly defended himself, saying: “I’ve never sexual assaulted anyone.”

Republicans have insisted a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) report had exonerated Judge Kavanaugh of sexual assault allegations.

However, thousands of women, including Emily took to the streets of Washington to appeal to senators to reject the Supreme Court nominee.

Demanding the government take action, Emily told her 19.8million Instagram followers women in America deserve to be respected.

In a lengthy post, she penned: “Today I was arrested protesting the Supreme Court nomination of Brett Kavanaugh, a man who has been accused by multiple women of sexual assault.

“Men who hurt women can no longer be placed in positions of power.

“Kavanaugh’s confirmation as a Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States is a message to women in this country that they do not matter.”

She concluded: “I demand a government that acknowledges, respects and supports women as much as it does men.”

Alongside the message Emily shared a picture of herself amongst a crowd of women, holding a sign, which bore the words: “Respect female existence or expect our resistance.”

The upload has received mixed responses from fans, with one praising the star for joining thousands of women in the anti-Kavanaugh protest.

One adoring fan, gushed: “You are courageous,” while another added: “So proud of you.”

A third simply said: “Bravo great!” and a fourth commented: “You go girl! Preach!”

Others were not impressed and made their feelings known in her comment section, with one writing: “Innocent until proven guilty, that is all.”

Another wrote: “I’m a woman and I wholeheartedly support Kavanaugh.”

Someone else pointed out: “Accused doesn’t mean he did it.”

More than 300 protesters were arrested at the march, where demonstrators chanted outside the Supreme Court: “Kavanaugh has got to go!"

Among them was comedian 37-year-old Amy Schemer, who is a supporter of the Time’s Up and was reportedly arrested at the scene.
