CYNICAL: Ryan's girlfriend Lucy Mecklenburgh isn't buying Roxanne's apology (Image: GETTY)

Former Corrie star Ryan romped to victory on the hit show’s Monday finale after a public backlash against Roxanne, 35 – who played Jo Sugden in Emmerdale from 2005-08 – after the pair began play-fighting and she went on to allege that he punched her, before demanding his eviction from the house.

Speaking to Day & Night in the aftermath of his CBB win the 34-year-old refused to guarantee that Lucy will make up with Roxanne now the show’s over.

He said: “I feel as if I don’t know enough about the outside world to start commenting – especially on my girlfriend’s relationship with somebody in that position.”

This comes despite Ryan claiming during Monday’s wrap show that he’d let bygones be bygones with Roxanne in future.

“If this person has an issue, a misunderstanding, who am I to sit there and judge? If she wants forgiveness and that makes her feel better, I would rather give her that – because I think she has been punished enough by the public and people around her.”

For her part Roxanne has since apologised for her role in the scandal.

But Towie star Lucy, pictured with Ryan, shot back: “I have my reservations about whether her apologies were genuine.

“The most important thing for me is that she never does this to anyone else.”

Jane Fonda said she knows good erotic fiction when she finds it (Image: GETTY)

Sauce-pot Jane Fonda has slammed the infamous Fifty Shades books as being underwhelming erotica.

The 80-year-old actress currently stars in new comedy film Book Club, about four women who have met every month for 30 years before one day reading Fifty Shades Of Grey and having a sexual awakening as they get turned on by the content.

“I’ve read really good pornography,” Jane boasts.

“I lived in France for years and I read Fifty Shades when it first came out – because I wanted to see what all the fuss was about.

“It’s not a very good book. But I’m glad it was written and I think it titillated and ‘juicified’ a lot of women in the United States. That’s a good thing.”

While Jane’s character Vivian may have enjoyed the raunchy book series, it looks like on this occasion life failed to imitate art.

Lady Gaga is frustrated that people don’t believe she has a debilitating disease. The Born This Way singer, who revealed a few years ago that she’s suffering from fibromyalgia – a condition whose symptoms include fatigue and muscle pain – said: “I get so irritated with people who don’t believe fibromyalgia is real.”

While the pop star – who has scored three UK number one albums, starting with 2008 debut The Fame – insists she’s not the only one to suffer from insensitivity.

“For me and I think for many others it’s really a cyclone of anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma, and panic disorder – all of which sends the nervous system into overdrive, and then you have nerve pain as a result.”

The hitmaker wants greater understanding for fellow sufferers: “People need to be more compassionate. Chronic pain is no joke.

“And it’s every day waking up not knowing how you’re going to feel.”

Anton Du Beke of Strictly insists he doesn't deliberately turn his dance partners into joke acts (Image: GETTY)

Strictly veteran Anton Du Beke has hit back at fans who say he turns his dance partners into joke acts on purpose.

When asked at the TV Choice awards how he was going to avoid doing this to his partner this year Anton, clearly irked, defiantly said: “I don’t make them into the joke act!” before storming off.

Last year fans took to Twitter to scold the dancer for mocking This Morning presenter Ruth Langsford by saying, “It’s going to be quite a journey” with her.

Earlier in the evening Anton told Day & Night that working with new partner Susannah Constantine is proving a revelation.

“We’ve had the first day of rehearsal and she’s terrific. I was pleasantly surprised,” said Anton, 52, at the Dorchester Hotel in central London.

“You’re never sure what you are going to get but she’s good, actually. So good I thought to myself, ‘I’m going to have to reassess this rapidly’.”
