Emmerdale spoilers: Rebecca White saved as fan spot Lachlan plot hole? | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

Category: Entertainment,Gossip

Lachlan White (played by Thomas Atkinson) has claimed responsibility for murdering his grandfather Lawrence (John Bowe) and mother Chrissie (Louise Marwood), but he is yet to fess up to abducting his aunt Rebecca (Emily Head).

However, a fan of the long-running ITV series is convinced they know how Lachlan will eventually be ousted for paying a nurse to keep his relative hostage.

It is possible Lachlan could face more time in prison if his girlfriend Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) tells the police he can’t access his inheritance until he is 21-years-old.

Therefore, if the authorises were to look into Lachlan’s bank account they would see he is paying off the nurse to keep Rebecca locked away.

Now, if the police were to track the payments Lachlan made to the nurse there is a good chance they would be able to find Rebecca.

Putting this into context, one viewer wrote on Twitter: “On 2nd February 2018 episode the solicitor tells Bell Dingle and Lachlan White that he can’t access his £300,000 from Lawrence White’s estate and his £10,000 from Chrissie White’s estate until he is 21 years of age, so how is he paying Rebecca White’s nurse?”

Despite being meticulous in his criminal activity, Lachlan has evidently slipped up here as it would appear he has forgotten to cover his tracks and prevent the police from finding Rebecca.

What’s more, it could also mean Lachlan is running on borrowed time as when the money runs out, what will the nurse do?

Could she kill Rebecca to hide all traces of her contact with the mother-of-one? Or will she target Lachlan and risk her own freedom for revenge?

Spoiler images for next week’s episodes show the mystery nurse carrying a large syringe in one hand and grasping onto Rebecca’s arm with another.

Rebecca looks absolutely terrified in the picture, while a menacing expression covers the face of the unknown nurse.

Could the nurse be about to administer a lethal injection and kill Rebecca?

Meanwhile, viewers have grown suspicious about the kidnapping storyline, with many left wondering why Rebecca has not been mentioned in the news or why the nurse has not found out Lachlan is in prison.

Emmerdale fans in their droves flocked to social media to comment on the plot, with one writing: “Watching Emmerdale for the first time in a while and two things I don’t understand.

“Rebecca clearly isn’t being kept in some psychiatric home and the ‘nurse’ is someone Lachlan has asked to look after her so why hasn’t she seen in the news that he has been arrested.

“Surely Rebecca’s disappearance would have been announced in the media as well?”

Another added: “Doesn’t that nurse watch the news or read the papers?

“Lachlan’s NEVER going to be replying to any messages from her or anyone for that matter.

“Also can’t the police (if they ever find it) trace his phone for messages/calls received/sent?”

Emmerdale continues tonight on ITV at 7pm.
