Carol Vorderman has been presenting “My Single Life” on Lorraine for the past couple of weeks.

The former Countdown whizz has been travelling the country speaking to people from all walks of life about being single in 2018.

Carol, 57, finished up on her investigations today with a trip to Cambridge to speak to two women who have found themselves flourishing in single life over the age of 50.

But before the segment from The Varsity Hotel & Spa in the university city started, Carol shared some remarkable throwbacks on the ITV show.

A Cambridge graduate herself, the blonde beauty shared a snap from her university days.

Beaming for her graduation photos, a fresh-faced Carol looked ready to take on the world.

She showcased her bold hairstyle which featured luscious long and curly brunette locks.

Carol served up graduation glamour as she beamed for what must have been a proud moment.

She completed an Engineering degree at Sidney Sussex College and at the time, was one of the youngest women admitted there.

Carol went on to work as a junior civil engineer at Dinorwig Power Station in Wales before becoming a graduate management trainee in Leeds.

But in the 1980s, she found fame when she auditioned for Countdown after her mother spotted an advert looking for a maths whizz.

She has had several on-off relationships throughout her life, but has since come to terms with being happy in whatever situation she is in.

At the end of her segment on Lorraine, Carol admitted: “It’s been eye-opening seeing what happens [when you’re older and single].

“We need to celebrate who we are without compromise.”

The Countdown beauty wished viewers luck in finding their “new freedom and happiness” in whatever life throws at them.

Previously, Carol launched the Lorraine show with a brand new look.

She unveiled her blonde tresses earlier in the year in a live chat on the ITV show.

Carol gushed: “I’ve gone back to my roots.”

Lorraine praised: “Sometimes I think that signals a change in many ways, it’s good a thing… watch this space!”

Lorraine airs weekdays on ITV from 8.30am.
